Nutri Ninja vs NutriBullet

Posted on October 26, 2016 at 4:20 pm

We have spent the past 3 months comparing the Nutri Ninja and the NutriBullet, it seems clear that each one has strengths that could suit your specific purpose. Ninja brand systems are ideal for creating side dishes, smoothies, and frozen dessert recipes, which will tend to call for softer kinds of ingredients that are best suited to the Ninja system.

The NutriBullet is definitely a better choice for creating juice based smoothies and also for preparing heartier dishes like soups, that use more substantial ingredients like broccoli or carrots. It also does better with produce that is still whole, with skin and stems intact, resulting in juices and soups that retain all of the nutrients found in fresh ingredients. But overall we feel as if the Nutri Ninja is the best all-round appliance and value for money. So you know what to do if you’re looking for an all-in-one…

Preparing The Food For Your Party

Posted on September 26, 2016 at 3:17 pm

Many factors should be weighed when deciding on the right amount of food for your event. Of course, first you must know the number of people attending. However, the length of the event is also very important, as is the type of event and the type of food you plan to serve. For example, spicy food may not be suitable in the blistering heat where dancing is involved.

For example, an evening cocktail party requires considerably less food than an entire afternoon or all-day event. The longer guests remain, the more they’ll consume. It’s funny, but over time people get hungry and thirsty over and over again.

When estimating, always round up to be on the safe side. Some will eat more, others less. It will all balance out in the end. Try to anticipate which foods/drinks are most popular and will disappear quickly. Order more of these selections.

Keep in mind that having a myriad of different food options means that you should serve them in smaller portions. People will want to try a little of everything, so you can offer bite-sized portions and they’ll still have sufficient.

Getting Rid of Limescale From Your Kettle

Posted on August 21, 2016 at 2:43 pm

Limescale manifests itself as chalky surface deposits. It inhibits heat conductivity, and clogs whistles of tea kettles, tubes in electric kettles and coffee makers, and hardens and clogs other parts that may need to move, such as important safety features like pressure release valves.

It is common in hard water, and to the degree of abundancy in naturally occurring calcium and magnesium. It is not common in softened water unless the softening system is not being properly maintained.

Frequency of de-scaling depends on frequency of use and degree of water hardness. Check regularly for surface deposits.
Add ½ cup of white vinegar to each quart of water and boil the mixture in the kettle for about 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

A Kebab Grill?

Posted on May 29, 2016 at 6:08 pm

An interesting gadget would make a perfect addition to any kitchen and this sounds like it would allow you to cook your kebab shop favourites from the comfort of your own home!

Just like the ones you’ll find in your local chip shop, it works by cooking your food in a rotation, and that means that it’s cooked efficiently and evenly at all times, and it’s perfect if you’re having friends over. It’s a little bit ‘out there’ but it drains away the fat as it cooks the food, leaving you with healthier versions of your food favourites. There’s nothing novelty about that! All you need is some lamb, salad and a few pita breads and you’re away. You have a tasty meal for your family and friends and it doesn’t take long to prepare!

NutriBullet – Yea or Nay?

Posted on April 24, 2016 at 8:49 pm

You may have heard of the NutriBullet, and it’s known for being incredibly compact yet still powerful enough to blend whole nuts into a fine paste. Many people use the NutriBullet blender to make smoothies or soups, but you can also use it to prepare meals like stews and curries, so it’s essentially a high-tech pestle and mortar.

Another advantage of the NutriBullet is that it’s incredibly easy to use, as you simply push down on the container to activate it, plus it’s designed to stay in position so there is minimal risk of injury. There are similar models on the market at a much cheaper price, but they just don’t have the same build quality as the NutriBullet, which is always going to be seen as the original compact blender with plenty of power. If you need a small bender that’s strong enough to mix some of the toughest ingredients, this could be the item for you, and it’s available from good British supermarkets.
