Technology is taking over our world as we know it by storm. More people are becoming reliant on technology for everything they do, and will always use new technology as a shortcut for simple tasks. But, how has technology impacted the cooking skill?

One of the main ways we have seen technology impact the cooking skill is with recipe books. Previously, we will all of needed multiple recipe books to be able to see all of our favourite recipes. Now, all you need is your phone. You can easily save these recipes and go back to them at any time. Along with this, voice-activated speakers like the Amazon Alexa, are making it possible for you to be told your recipe through voice. Meaning dirty hands is no longer an issue, all you need to do is ask Alexa for the next step and you’ll be on your way.

Another way that we have seen technology impact the cooking industry is through some of the appliances that we use. Before it was all about baking by hand. Hand mixing and kneading everything that we made. Well, this is something that has been made easier. Using an electric hand whisk or stand mixer to complete these tasks for you. Meaning your cooking time will be lowered and the skill needed is lessened.

These are just two of the main ways that technology has made its way into the kitchen. These can both be seen as beneficial, but sometimes it may be nice to go back to the traditional way of baking goods. Don’t always let technology take over, but sometimes it can be handy.
